Dr. Md. Sarfaraz Ahmad, author of Application of Microbiology, A Text Book of Applied Microbiology, and Basic Techniques in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Botany, Jai Prakash University, Chapra, Bihar. His research papers have appeared in Journals like Horizon Research Publishing Corporation, USA, International Journal of Life Science and Pharma Research, BBRC: Bioscience Biotechnology Research Communication, International Journal of Biology, Pharma and Allied Sciences (IJBPAS), Indian J. About the Book:
The book entitled ‘Standardization of Tissue Culture Studies on Gmelina arborea Roxb. under Salt Stress' deals with the growth of explants like node, internode and shoot tip of woody plant under different concentrations of salt. Author tried to develop a simple protocol to solve the basic problems regarding browning in callus culture. He also tried to solve the problems regarding acclimatization and field transfer of plantlet. The author was awarded a Degree of PhD on this work by B.R.A Bihar University, Muzaffarpur in 2008.
